Marie Ulven Ringheim, who is known by the stage name Girl in Red or girl in red is a Norwegian indie pop singer and songwriter born in February of 1999. She tours and sees fans in both Europe and the United States and has amassed fans that lead to a viewership of over 150 million streams. Her debut single “I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend” was streamed more than 40 million times on Spotify and was number 9 on the New York TImes selection of best songs of 2018. Her single “We Fell in Love in October” also gained mass viewership. Due to the subject matter of her work, she has been considered a queer icon.
