Hockey Dad Bio
Hockey Dad is a surf rock revival band from Australia, comprised of the duo Zach Stephenson (lead vocals, guitar) and Billy Fleming (drums, bass). The two met while growing up in the same neighborhood, and named their band after a throwaway gag on the animated TV series “The Simpsons.” They cite garage rock bands as their influence, including the bands Bass Drum of Death, Sparkadia and Band of Horses.
Despite the relative youth of the duo, they have toured the UK, Europe, and Canada, as well as shows across Australia. They are signed to two record labels, Inertia Music and Kanine Records. Their two albums released so far have charted in the Australian ARIA charts at #55 for “Boronia” (2016) and “Blend Inn” (2016).
