I Am They Bio
I Am They is an American contemporary Christian music band formed in Carson City, Nevada in 2011. The current members of the band are Jon McConnell on vocals, guitar, and keys, Matthew Hein on vocals, guitar, banjo, dobro, and mandolin, Abbie Parker on vocals and harmonium, Justin Shinn on keys, organ, concert drum, banjo, and mandolin, and Sara Palmer on drums and percussion. They initially formed as a worship ministry called Solomon’s Porch. In 2009 they started writing their own songs and changed their name to I Am They. They were signed with Provident Label group in 2013 and in 2015 released their debut studio album self-titled I Am They. The album reached number 10 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart. They received a Dove Award nomination for New Artist of the Year in August 2015. In 2016 they released the four-track EP titled The Resting Place – EP and in 2018 released their second studio album titled Trials & Triumph.
