Ilyasah Shabazz is an American author, motivational speaker and actress who was born on July 22nd 1962 in Queens, New York, United States. She was born and raised in Queens with her five siblings Qubilah, Gamilah Lumumba, Malikah, Malaak and Attallah Shabazz. Their parents are Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz.
Ilyasah rose to fame as an author and social activist. She is known for the memoir Growing Up X and also as a motivational speaker. She is a cousin to Rod Collins. As an actress, Ilyasah is best known for Malcolm X (1992), When They See Us (2019) and Blood Brothers: Malcolm X & Muhammad Ali (2021).
