Iris Apfel Bio
Iris Apfel is an American interior designer, businesswoman and fashion icon. She was born Iris Barrel on the 29th of August, 1921 in Queens, New York, U.S. She graduated from the New York University in Art History and she later attended art school at the University of Wisconsin. She worked as an interior designer during her twenties, before marrying Carl Apfel and launching the textile firm Old World Weavers. She ran the firm until 1992, and during her career she worked on several important restoration projects, including at the White House. Apfel developed her unique fashion style through her numerous travels. In 2016, she posed in a TV ad for the French car brand Citroën and she was also the face of the brand Blue Illusion. Apfel signed with global modeling agency IMG in 2019.
