J.W. Cortes Bio
Hailing from Brooklyn, New York City, New York, J.W. Cortes is an American actor, stunts man, and producer best known for his work in film and television. J. W. began his acting career in 2007 when he appeared in the films We Own the Night, 44, and American Gangster. He has since acted in the TV series Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, Power, and, but he is best known for portraying the character Detective Alvarez in the DC series Gotham which also featured David Mazouz, Ben McKenzie, Camren Bicondova, and Morena Baccarin. His filmography includes Three from the Block, Black Wake, Monsters and Men, The Children of Hip Hop, White Alligator, and The Last Airbender.
