Jamie Hewlett Bio
Jamie Hewlett is a comic creator born on 3rd April 1968 in Horsham, Sussex, England. He is widely recognized for co-creating the widely popular series “Tank Girl” as well as being the visual architect of the globally recognized virtual band “Gorillaz”. He is also the co-founder of a fanzine known as “Atomtan.” He has also provided artwork for the band "Senseless Things" and "Cud" and the magazine “Commodore User.”
By 1992, Hewlett had made a name for himself in the comics industry and mainstream culture. Gorillaz released the first EP in 2000, followed by their debut album in 2001. He also started his own graphic design and animation company called “Zombie Flesh Eaters.” His artwork for Gorillaz won the Design Museum's Designer of the Year Award in May 2006. BBC used his animation sequence to introduce the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He launched his first art exhibition called “The Suggestionists” in November 2015 at the Saatchi Gallery.
