Jason Paul Collins is an American retired professional basketball player who played as a center in the NBA. He was born in Los Angeles, California, United States, on December 2, 1978. Jason spent his formative years playing for Harvard-Westlake School and Stanford University, and he turned professional in 2001 when he was selected by the Houston Rockets in the first round of the NBA Draft and soon after traded to the Brooklyn Nets. He went on to represent the Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, and Washington Wizards, and throughout his time with the Brooklyn Nets, Jason played alongside Erick Dampier, Willie Green, Kirk Hinrich, Al Horford, and Ivan Johnson.
