Jason Pierre-Paul is an American professional football player born in Deerfield Beach, Florida on January 1, 1989. He is currently an outside linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. Pierre-Paul played football in high school at Deerfield Beach High School in Deerfield Beach Florida. He went on to play college football at College of the Canyons in 2007, Fort Scott Community College in 2008, and the University of South Florida in 2009. In 2010 he was selected by the New York Giants in the first round, 15th overall, in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was signed to a five-year contract worth $20.05 million with $11.629 million guaranteed. Pierre-Paul made his NFL debut in the Giants’ season opener. In the 2011 season he became a Super Bowl champion when the Giants defeated the New England Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI. In 2015 and 2016 Pierre-Paul signed a one-year contract with the Giants and in 2017 he was signed to a four-year contract with the Giants worth $62 million with $40 million guaranteed. Pierre-Paul was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2018 for a third round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Throughout his career he has recorded 491 tackles, 71 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, 7 fumble recoveries, 2 interceptions, and 3 defensive touchdowns.
