Joel Adams Bio

Joel Goncalves, popularly known as Joel Adams, is a Brisbane-born pop-soul singer and songwriter. He was born December 16, 1996, in Brisbane, Australia into a music-loving family. Influenced by James Taylor, Al Green, and Led Zeppelin, Adams began making music at the age of 11.

When he was 15, Joel decided to audition for The X Factor. Although he did not make it through to the live shows, his televised audition, where he performed Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney's "The Girl Is Mine," earned him rave reviews. In the same year, he wrote "Please Don't Go" for a school talent contest.

He came into the limelight in 2015, when his self-released debut single, "Please Don't Go," became a viral global hit. The song racked up over 40 million views and 50 million streams, without a record deal. The song also hit number 12 on the main pop chart in Norway and number 6 in Sweden and charted in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Two years later, Joel launched his YouTube channel where he uploaded weekly covers of pop hits. In January 2017, he released a new song titled, Die for You. In October 2018, he released Fake Friends, while in March 2019, Joel released two new tracks titled, "A Big World" and "Coffee."
