John Richard Schneider was born on April 18 1960 in Mount Kisco, New York. He is an American actor and a singer. His nickname is Schneidy.
John began acting at the young age of 8, featuring in many plays in New York City. He moved to Atlanta at 14 and featured in lots of local plays. He got a small part in the 1977 movie Smokey and the Bandit that starred Burt Reynolds. His big break came when he starred in the 1979 CBS series The Dukes of Hazzard where he featured as Bo Duke from 1979-1985.
Alongside his acting successful career, John has been a singer since the early eighties. He released nine studio albums and a greatest hits package, as well as eighteen singles including I've Been Around Enough to Know, Country Girls, What's a Memory Like You, and You're the Last Thing I Needed Tonight, all of which reached the top of the Billboard country singles charts.
