Josh Hader Bio

Joshua Hader is a baseball pitcher born on 7th April 1994, in Maryland, United States. He currently plays for the San Diego Padres in Major League Baseball (MLB). Hader attended Old Mill High School, where he played baseball. He started his professional career with the Baltimore Orioles after being drafted in the 19th round of the 2012 MLB draft. He played in their minor league system until July 2013, when he was traded to the Houston Astros. Hader was named the California League Pitcher of the Year in 2014. 

In 2015, he competed in the Pan-American Games. The same year, the Astros traded Hader to the Milwaukee Brewers. In 2016, he was named to the All-Star Futures Game. The following year, the Brewers promoted him to the major leagues, and he made his debut in June. He won the National League Reliever of the Year Award in 2018 and 2019. Hader set an all-time MLB record with 12 consecutive hitless appearances in 2020. In May 2021, he broke Craig Kimbrel's previous strikeout record. Hader was traded to the San Diego Padres in 2022 and signed a one-year contract with the team in January 2023.
