Jude Law Bio

Jude Law was born on December 29, 1972 in London, England. He played in several small theater roles before landing a lead role in the play Les Parents Terribles, which earned him the Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Newcomer. He starred in small British crime dramas before landing the role of Oscar Wilde in Wilde (1997). He worked in the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and The Talented Mr. Ripley, earning a BAFTA for learning the saxophone for the role. He was also nominated for an Oscar Award.

He played the lead in the remake of Alfie. He also appeared in Repo Men and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. He was cast as young Albus Dumbledore in the 2016 sequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in which he starred with Johnny Depp.
