Karen Martinez Bio

Karen Cecilia Martínez-Insignares (born August 14, 1979 in Cartagena, Colombia) is a professional model and actress, best known for her roles in Colombia's telenovela industry. She is also widely renowned for her marriage to Colombian rock singer Juanes on August 6, 2004.

Karen made her debut on the small screen at the age of 14, featuring in a television commercial shot in her hometown of Cartagena, Colombia. The commercial, promoting a soda, marked the inception of her professional career in the late 1990s. During this period, she also served as an assistant director in Colombian TV.

In 2001, Karen made her appearance in "Siniestro." Subsequently, in 2008, she took on roles in the Colombian telenovelas "Tiempo final" and "El cartel." It was on the set of the music video for Juanes's song "Podemos Hacernos Daño" that Karen, working as an actress, crossed paths with her future husband. Together, Karen and Juanes share three children: Luna, Paloma, and Dante.
