Kat Blaque Bio

Kat Blaque was born on September 14, 1990, in California. She was adopted swiftly after birth. She earned a BFA in character animation in 2012 from the California Institute of Art, in the same year she started her Youtube channel. Kat identifies as polyamorous and genderqueer. She is an illustrator and YouTuber with a reputation as a leading advocate for the transgender community. Blaque has contributed to websites like Everyday Feminism and the Black Voices section of the Huffington Post. She also spoke as the guest speaker at the University of Toledo's LGBTQA History Month celebration. She took part in a panel on writing transgender characters at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con. The narrative "Sometimes You're A Caterpillar" by YouTuber Franchesca Ramsey was animated by Blaque and Ramsey in the same year. Several websites, like Everyday Feminism, Upworthy, Mic, and MTV, have posted this short film about privilege in the past.
