Ken Watanabe is an award-winning Japanese actor and producer best known for his work in film and television. He was born in Hirokami, Niigata, Japan, on October 21, 1959. Ken began his acting career in the early 1980s when he appeared in the T series Mibu no koiuta and Sanga moyu, and he has gone on to be a regular on the TV series Tokyo Vice, Clouds Over the Hill, Suna no utsuwa, Ikebukuro West Gate Park, and Dokugan-ryu Masamune. His filmography includes the blockbusters Transformers: Age of Extinction, Batman Begins, Godzilla, Pokémon Detective Pikachu, The Last Samurai, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but he is best known for starring in the action-Sc-fi film Inception alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Elliot Page, Tom Hardy, and Cillian Murphy. Ken has won three Awards of the Japanese Academy for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, and he received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
