Nicole Kang is a Korean-American actress and writer, most popular for her role as Poison Ivy in the TV show “Batwoman.” Born on June 30, 1993 in Los Angeles, California, Kang grew up in a bilingual family, having a Korean mother and American father.
Kang wanted to be many things while growing up. Before venturing into acting, the 29-year-old wanted to be a figure skater after watching the performance of legendary figure skater Michelle Kwan. In addition, she wanted to become a singer and dancer.
She attended Stellar Adler Studio of Acting in Bachelors of Fine Arts and graduated from New York University in 2005. After intensive training, Kang decided to take up singing classes under Jase Burrow and Liam Forte.
Kang made her acting debut in the 2017 American film, “ABC-Disney Discovered New York Talent Showcase.” She was cast in “Ten Minutes to Midnight” and portrayed Jane in the film, “Jack and Jane, which she wrote, directed, and produced.
She gained a massive audience for her role as Poison Ivy in “Batwoman.” She became the first Asian to play the role.
Her stellar performance in “Ten Minutes to Midnight” earned her “Best Supporting Performance” at the 2020 Vancouver Horror Show Jury Award.
