Kimiko Elizabeth Glenn, known as Kimiko Glenn professionally, was born on June 27, 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona. She started performing on stage at the Valley Youth Theatre and through that, she started to realize the deep love she had for performing. When she was studying at Boston Conservatory, she got casted as Thea for the first national tour of Spring Awakening. She played the role for two years, from 2008 to 2010, and after their last show, she decided to settle down in New York. She continued to act on stage for various productions but she started to appear in more and more on-screen projects, and in 2014, she started to play the role of Brook Soso in the highly successful Netflix series Orange Is The New Black. The show was able to give her three Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series trophies from the Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also became a voice actor for animated series. From 2017 to 2018, she voiced Lena in DuckTales and it gave her two wins at the Behind the Voice Actors Awards: one for Breakthrough Voice Actress of the Year and one for Best Vocal Ensemble in a New Television Series.
