King Krule Bio

King Krule, also known as Edgar The Beatmaker, is the stage name of Archy Ivan Marshall, an English singer, musician, songwriter and record producer. He was born on the 24th of August, 1994, in Southwark, London, England. In 2010, he began producing music under the stage name Zoo Kid, alongside Jamie Isaac. In 2011, he began releasing music under his current stage name. He released his debut album “6 Feet Beneath the Moon” and later on that year he was nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2013. He has performed on television shows such as the “Late Show with David Letterman”. His music has been described as jazz punk with trip hop and darkwave influences. In 2017, he released the album “The Ooz” which was very well received by critics, and magazines like Pitchfork gave it their “Best New Music” designation, besides earning a nomination for the 2018 Mercury Prize. In 2020, he released his third album “Man Alive”. He has done collaborations with artists such as Mount Kimbie, and Trash Talk.
