Kristen Wiig Bio

Actress Kristen Carroll Wiig, born August 22nd 1973 in New York, was an art student at the University of Arizona when she first took an acting class. She moved to LA to pursue acting, taking on odd jobs along the way until she auditioned and landed a spot in the improvisation troupe the Groundlings. This acted as a springboard for her working on Saturday Night Live, which she would score Emmy nominations for. After finding success on SNL, she tried her hand at acting, delighting audiences in Knocked Up, Whip It, and MacGruber. Kristen wrote and starred in the comedy hit Bridesmaids, which landed her a Golden Globe nomination for her performance, and an Academy Award nomination for her writing. Wiig voiced characters in the beloved animated movie series Despicable Me. She also voiced characters in the How to Train Your Dragon movie series and TV show, Sausage Party, Big Mouth, The Simpsons and The Looney Tunes Show. Wiig has also starred in Arrested Development, Drunk History, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, The Spoils of Babylon, The Spoils Before Dying, Zoolander 2, Ghostbusters, The Last Man on Earth, Sandra, and much more.
