Lacrim was born Karim Zenous on April 19, 1985, in Chevilly-Larue, France. He started his career as a musician by collaborating with other artists, and in 2012, he dropped the mixtapes Faites entrer Lacrim and Toujours le même.
His albums Corleone (2014) and Force & Honneur (2017) made it to No. 1 of the French album charts, and both were certified Platinum. The single “Traîtres” from his 2017 album peaked on No. 2 while “Grande armée” made it to No. 3 of the French charts.
His mixtapes R.I.P.R.O Vol. 1 (2015) and R.I.P.R.O Vol. 3 (2017) also topped the charts. “Ce soir ne sors pas” featuring Maître Gims and “Niche” featuring Damaso made it to the charts. He has featured in various tracks including Gradur’s “La douille” and AM La Scampia’s “Maradona” which peaked on No. 5 of the French charts.
