Kat & Alex Bio
Kat & Alex are a Nashville-based husband-and-wife duo who infuse classic country stylings with a Latin twist.
Kat, a first-generation American of Cuban descent, and Alex, who is of Puerto Rican heritage, met after Kat heard Alex singing at church. After appearing on American Idol individually, the pair began writing and recording original music as a duo, releasing their debut single How Many Times and its Spanish version in 2020. Kat & Alex’s discography includes the hit singles I Want It All, We Bought a House, How Many Times, Most Nights, and the album Kat & Alex Side A.
Their music has been praised for its engaging live instrumentation, bilingual lyrics, and full-bodied soulful delivery, and they've been described as Nashville’s most compelling outliers. Their sound features velvet harmonies, pop-like vocal riffs, and hooky lyrics, and they're dedicated to representing Hispanic culture in country music.
