Leprous is a Norwegian rock band founded in 2001 in Notodden. Einar Solberg, a vocalist and keyboardist, and guitarist Tor Oddmund Suhrke established the band.
Tall Poppy Syndrome, the band's first studio album, was released in 2009, following the release of several demos with very unstable lineups. They rose to notoriety as the live backing band for Ihsahn (Solberg's brother-in-law), who later appeared as a guest singer or producer on several Leprous albums.
Their critically acclaimed 2011 album Bilateral drew even more notice. Following two albums that took the same musical path, Coal (2013) and The Congregation (2015), Leprous chose a more rock-oriented and less metal approach with Malina (2017), their first album without harsh vocals.
