Lindsey Buckingham Bio

Lindsey Buckingham is an American rock musician best known as a member of the band Fleetwood Mac. Growing up in the ultra-rich suburbs of Atherton, California, he practiced on guitar and eventually trucked around with garage rock bands in the bay area, until running into Stevie Nicks, which started their relationship both personally and professionally. They signed to Polydor Records and released the album “Buckingham Nicks” (1973), but failed to make a mark. Then Fleetwood Mac invited the duo to join in 1974.

Things perked up for Lindsey Buckingham after that, and the rest if classic rock history. He was with the group through the height of their popularity, on the albums “Fleetwood Mac” (1975), “Rumours” (1975) with the hit singles “Don’t Stop” and “Go Your Own Way,” “Tusk” (1979), “Mirage” (1982), and “Tango in the Night” (1987), multi-platinums all. Since leaving Fleetwood Mac, he engaged in solo projects, rejoined, left again, and has recently released the album “Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie” (2017).
