James Todd Smith, or LL Cool J, is a multi-award winning rapper and actor from Queens, NY. He was one of the first hip-hop acts to cross over into mainstream popularity, as the first hip-hop act to appear on American Bandstand. Deemed as one of the forefathers of rap, his early popular hits include, ‘Mama Said Knock You Out,’ ‘Hey Lover,’ and ‘Around the Way Girl.’ He has released thirteen studio albums, and two greatest hits compilations. His latest release, 2013’s Authentic, is a collaboration with Joe and the successful producers, Trackmasters. From 1995 to the present, he has participated in numerous films, television shows, and hosting positions, including the Grammy Awards. In 2016, LL Cool J received the 2,571st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
