Love of Lesbian is an indie band formed in 1997 in Catalonia, Spain. They are associated with Warner Music, Naïve, Rock K, and Pussycats. Members include Santi Balmes (vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards, synthesizers), Oriol Bonet (drums, percussion, programming), Joan Ramón Planell (bass guitar, synthesizers), Jordi Roig (guitar, keyboards), and Julián Saldarriaga (guitar, synthesizers, sequencer, percussion, vocals). In addition, Dani Ferrer (keyboards, trumpet) joins the band on tours. They fuse indie pop and indie rock into their music.
Although their first three albums were sung in English (Microscopic Movies (2000), Is It Fiction? (2002), and 2003's Ungravity (2003)), their more acclaimed album, Maniobras de Escapismo (2005), was sung in Spanish. Their breakthrough album, 1999 (O cómo generar incendios de nieve con una lupa enfocando a la luna), was released in 2009. It reached number 33 on the albums chart in Spain and was certified gold.
They released four number one albums after that, including La noche eterna. Los días no vividos (2012), El Poeta Halley (2016), El gran truco final (2018), and V.E.H.N (Viaje épico hacia la nada) (2021). They were nominated for the 2012 MTV Europe Music Award for Best Spanish Act.
