Luke Campbell Donald, popular as Luke Donald, is a professional golfer born on December 7, 1977, in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England. He is an alumnus of Northwestern University. He turned pro in 2001.
As an amateur, he represented Great Britain and Ireland on several tours, including Jacques Léglise Trophy (1995), Eisenhower Trophy (1998, 2000), Palmer Cup (1998, 1999), and St Andrews Trophy 1998, 2000), and Walker Cup (1999, 2001). Professionally, he represented Europe at the Ryder Cup and won the 2004, 2006, 2010, and 2012 editions. He represented England in 2004, 2005, and 2006 World Golf Championship-World Cups, winning the 2004 edition.
He has had 17 professional wins, including five PGA Tours, seven European Tours, two Japan Golf Tours, and four others. His highest career ranking was on May 29, 2011, as number one. In 2011, he won the Vardon Trophy, Byron Nelson Award, PGA Player of the Year, PGA Tour Player of the Year, Race to Dubai, European Tour Golfer of the Year, and European Tour Players' Player of the Year.
