Machinedrum Bio

Machinedrum, born Travis Stewart on March 4th 1982 in Eden, North Carolina is an American DJ and electronic music producer. Growing up he was exposed to a wide variety of music. He began playing guitar at the age of 5 and began playing the drums in his marching band in high school. He began producing electronic music in the 8th grade. He undertook the moniker of Machinedrum in high school and has also performed under the pseudonyms of Syndrone, Tsrewart, Neonblack, Samuel McPaike, Spirit Gypsies and Aden.

In 2001 he released his first single under the Machinedrum moniker called “Now You Know” under the label Merck Records. In 2001 he produced the Jam mixtape and The Charming mixtape for Theophilus London.  He has since collaborated with artists such as Tiombe Lockhart, Jesse Boykin the 3rd, Azealia Banks, and Mickey Factz.  From 2001 to 2010 Machinedrum is cited as having produced 8 albums, 20 remixes, and numerous ingles and EPs under his various monikers including the likes of “Half the Battle,” “Urban Biology,” Many Faces EP, Let It EP, “Ecstasy Boom” and many more.
