Marcel Ruiz Bio
Marcel Ruiz is an actor and model born in Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico on July 9, 2003 as Marcel Ruiz Pérez. Marcel started acting in commercials from an early age and at age 9 he moved to Los Angeles, to pursue his acting career. He is known for playing Alex Álvarez in the Netflix series “One day at a time”. He was named one of the “10 Latinxs to Watch in 2019” by Variety magazine, because of his acting career. Being a creative talent, Marcel enjoys filming and editing content for his YouTube channel, writing music, photography, and fashion. He also starred in the 2019 drama movie “Breakthrough”, directed by Roxann Dawson. In 2017, he won the Imagen Awards Best Young Actor for his work in “One Day at a Time”.
