Italian professional footballer Marco Verratti, also known as Marco Verratti Cavaliere, was born in Pescara, Italy, on November 5, 1992. He is a central midfielder for both the Italy national team and Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain. Verratti competed for Italy's under-21 football team at the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, earning a runners-up medal and selection to the tournament's all-star team. He moved to Paris Saint-Germain in July 2012, where he established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world and won eight Ligue 1 championships from 2013 to 2022, among other domestic and individual honours. He debuted for Italy at the senior level in 2012 and went on to represent his nation at both the UEFA Euro 2020 and the FIFA World Cup in 2014, winning the latter event.
