Marcus East Stroman, born on May 1, 1991, in Medford, New York, is an American professional baseball pitcher. He first started playing football while attending the Patchogue-Medford High School in his hometown. He was drafted in the 18th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft by the Washington Nationals, however, he rejected them and chose to head to Duke University. Marcus Stroman continued playing baseball at college for the Duke Baseball Devils baseball team. In 2010 and 2011, Marcus Stroman played collegiate summer baseball for the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In 2010, he was named a league all-star. He played for the Toronto Blue Jays for a period of over four years before finally joining the New York Mets of Major League Baseball in 2019.
