Matt Lucas is an English actor, comedian, and singer born in Paddington, England on March 5, 1974. He is best known for his roles on the shows Little Britain, Shooting Stars, Doctor Who and both the live-action Alice in Wonderland films. He landed his first role on television in 1995 in the show The Imaginatively Titled Punt & Dennis Show and has continued landing roles in shows like Mash and Peas, Rock Profile, Catterick, Popetown, Come Fly with Me, Doctor Who, and more. In 1998 he made his debut in film in the movie Jilting Joe. He has also been in films like Shaun of the Dead, The Infidel, Paddington, Polar, Bridesmaids, among others, and has voiced characters in the animated films Astro Boy, Gnomeo & Juliet, and Sherlock Gnomes. In 2002 he made his debut in theater in a production of Taboo and has been in several other theater productions, including Little Britain Live, Prick Up Your Ears, Les Misérables, Monty Python Live, and Me and My Girl. Lucas co-authored the book Inside Little Britain in 2006 with Boyd Hilton and David Walliams and authored his autobiography in 2017 titled Little Me: My Life from A-Z.
