Max B Bio

Max B, born as Charly Wingate on May 21st, 1978 in Harlem, New York in an American rapper that grew up in a household filled with music. The B in his moniker is short for “Biggaveli” which references his musical influences of The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, and Tupac Shakur’s second moniker Makaveli.

Max B got his start in the music industry through his affiliation with Cam’ron of The Diplomats. After being introduced to Jim Jones, they went on to found the group ByrdGang which featured Max B, Stack Bundles, Mel Matrix and Lady Jha Jha. In 2005 he was a featured artist on Jim Jones tracks “G’s Up” and “Baby Girl” as well as the Cam’ron song “You Gotta Love It.”

He released his debut mixtape, Million Dollar Baby, to critical acclaim. After a stint in jail he released his second solo mixtape Public Domain: Million Dollar Baby Radio in 2006.  In December of the same year he released his third mixtape Public Domain 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The tape included notable tracks “Blow Me a Dub” and “De La Soul.” In 2008 he released his debut album Vigilante Season under the Amalgam Digital record label.
