Michael Essien Bio
Michael Kojo Essien (born 3 December 1982) is a former Ghanaian professional footballer who played as a midfielder and is now a member of the coaching staff of Danish Superliga team FC Nordsjlland.
Essien attended Gomoa Nyanyano DC Primary and JSS after being born in Accra to Aba Gyandoh and James Essien. After graduating from St. Augustine's College in Cape Coast, he began his football career with the Liberty Professionals, a local team.
He also played more than 50 times for the Ghana national team in addition to over a hundred matches for Chelsea FC. Essien was regarded as one of the top midfielders in the world during his time.
