Millie Bright Bio

Millie Bright (born August 21, 1993 in Chesterfield, England) is an English professional footballer most renowned as a defender for Chelsea and the England national team.


She began playing football when she was nine years old after watching her friends play. She joined local Derbyshire team, Killamarsh Dynamos, before being scouted by Sheffield United academy team. She played for the club till 2009 when she moved to Doncaster Rovers Belles. She remained at Doncaster Rovers Belles till 2014. In December 2014, Bright joined Chelsea ahead of the 2015 season. In her first season, she was awarded Chelsea Players' Player of the Year. At the end of the year, she won the WSL1 and Women’s FA Cup with the club. She also won the FA WSL Player of the Year during the 2018 season.


Bright has played for England’s under-19 and under-23 national teams. In 2016, Bright was listed as a Vauxhall England Young Player of the Year. She was selected to represent England during the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
