Nicholas Walters was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica on January 4, 1986. From 2012 to 2015, he held on to the WBA featherweight title. He is known for the nickname The Axe Man.
As an amateur boxer, he won a gold medal at the Caribbean Championships featherweight category in 2005 and 2006.
Walters bagged his first title in 2009 – the WBA Fedelatin title. He succeeded in defending his title four times.
In 2012, he won the WBA world featherweight title. He won against Nonito Donaire in 2014 by a six-round knockout. He also won the WBA World Featherweight championship. He was considered as a Super Champion in 2015.
He lost his WBO junior lightweight title to Vasyl Lomachenko by TKO in the seventh round.
