Omar-S Bio
Omar-S is the stage persona of Alexander Omar Smith, a house / techno EDM producer based in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He has released most of his music through his own label, FXHE Records Detroit, and has a low profile but a strong online marketing presence for his work. He got set up with turntables and production equipment when he was age thirteen, and began self-releasing tracks over the Internet.
He produces exclusively for artists in the Detroit area, out of local pride. Omar-S has released five studio albums from 2005 to 2016, dozens of EPs, and nine compilation mix albums. He has collaborated with other Detroit artists including Amp Fiddler, Big Strick, and Diviniti. His signature style is a kind of old-school aestheitic – he still releases vinyl records!
