Patty Mills is a well-known basketball player who was born on August 11, 1988, in Canberra, Australia. He attended Marist College in Canberra, where he participated in a number of sports, including football, among others. In 2009, he made the transition from amateur to professional basketball and was one of the first Australians to compete in the NBA. Through the charitable organization Wears My Shirt, he was able to raise more than $40,000 for flood relief in Queensland in 2010.
