Radwimps is a Japanese band that was formed in 2001 in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. The founding members of the band were five schoolmates Yojiro Noda (vocalist), Akira Kuwahara (guitarist), Yuusuke Saiki (guitarist), Kei Asou (bassist), and Akio Shibafuji (drummer). Radwimps started to gain local success after they won the grand prize in the 2002 Yokohama High School Music Festival with their track Moshi Mo. The self-titled debut album followed the next year in 2003. Their second album Hatten Tojou appeared in 2005. They got the attention of EMI who signed them and released their third album Mujintou ni Motte Ikiwasureta Ichimai in 2006 and the album debuted at #13 on the Oricon chart. Their fame skyrocketed after they provided the soundtrack album to the 2016 anime film Your Name which sent the band to the #2 spot on the Billboard World Albums chart.
