Randy Owen Bio

Randy Owen is an American country music artist, born on December 13, 1949, in Fort Payne, Alabama. He is best known as the lead singer of the popular country-rock band Alabama, which saw tremendous mainstream success in the 80s and 90s with hits like Lady Down and Christmas in Dixie. He started playing music at the age of 6. After graduating from Fort Payne High School, the Alabama native attended Jacksonville State University.

Randy released his solo album One on One on Broken Bow Records on November 4, 2008, which features a duet with fiddler Megan Mullins. During his career, he has won both the ACM and CMA Entertainers of the Year for three years in a row and was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2019. In 2007, he was one of the judges on the reality TV show Nashville Star, alongside Blake Shelton.
