Trae Young Bio

Rayford Trae Young is an American professional basketball player born in Lubbock, Texas on September 19, 1998. He is currently a point guard for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association. Young played basketball in high school at Norman North High School in Norman, Oklahoma. While in high school, he was named Oklahoma’s Player of the Year by multiple outlets. He went on to play college basketball at the University of Oklahoma for the Oklahoma Sooners. In 2018 he was selected by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round, 5th overall, in the 2018 NBA Draft. He was quickly traded to the Atlanta Hawks. In 2016 he played on the U.S. men’s national under 18 team and won a gold medal at the 2016 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship.
