Robinson José Canó Mercedes, popular as Robinson Cano, is a professional MLB player born on October 22, 1982, in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic. He made his MLB debut on May 3, 2005, for the New York Yankees. He is an eight-time All-Star, World Series champion, five-time Silver Slugger Award, and two-time Gold Glove Award.
The All-Star MLB second baseman played for the Team Dominican Republic in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Robinson won the WBC Tournament MVP and set the record for most hits in a single WBC tournament. He was named to the WBC All-Tournament team.
He was the first sports client of Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports in 2013. Robinson has been associated with Nike, Alaska Airlines, Franklin, Wilson Sporting Goods, and New Era. In 2014, he was Mariner's nominee for the Hank Aaron Award, a ﬁnalist for Rawlings Gold Glove Award, and was named Mariner's BBWAA Most Valuable Player. Robinson has played for Seattle Mariners (2014–2018), New York Mets (2019–2020, 2022), San Diego Padres (2022), and Atlanta Braves (2022).
