Shakur Stevenson Bio

Ash-Shakur Nafi-Shahid Stevenson, famous as Shakur Stevenson, is a professional boxer born on June 28, 1997, in Newark, New Jersey, USA. He belongs to the Alexandria Boxing Club and is coached by Kay Koroma and Wali Moses. In 2014, he won gold medals at the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and the Youth Olympic Games for Team USA as a flyweight.

Shakur has a perfect 23-0 international record. He is the first American male to win junior and youth world titles and a Youth Olympic Games gold medal. In 2013, Shakur was the Junior Open and the Junior Olympic Champion. In addition, he won a silver medal for representing the USA in the men's amateur boxing at the 2016 Summer Olympics as a bantamweight.

Shakur is greatly influenced by his first professional manager and boxing star Andre Ward. He was America's Olympic Qualifier Gold Medalist, World Series of Boxing Boxer of the Week, Olympic Trials Champion and Outstanding Boxer, and two-time Youth Open Champion. He turned pro in February 2017.
