Shubman Gill Bio

Shubman Gill is a professional cricketer who currently plays for Punjab in domestic cricket. Born on 8th September 1999 in Fazilka, Punjab, India, Gill made his debut for Punjab against Vidarbha on 25th February 2017. His first-class debut for Punjab came in November 2017. Kolkata Knight Riders bought him in the 2018 IPL auction. In April 2018, Gill made his Twenty20 debut in the IPL (Indian Premier League). After an impressive performance with the Kolkata Knight Riders, he was named in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) list of eight players to watch.

Gill was part of the Under-19 Indian team that won the Indian U19 series against the England Under-19 team. In December 2017, he became the vice-captain of the Indian team that participated in the 2018 U19 Cricket World Cup. He was added to the Indian squad for the limited-overs legs against New Zealand. He helped India make a comeback win in the second match of the Test series in December 2020.
