Simon Marc Amstell is an English comedian, writer, director, and actor best known for his work in film and television. He was born in Gants Hill, London, England, on November 29, 1979.
Simon became famous as a comedian and TV personality in the late 1990s, but he has since transitioned to screenwriting, directing, and acting. Simon has been a writer on the TV shows Skins, The Morning After Show, and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, but he is best known for writing and starring in the comedy series Grandma's House, alongside Linda Bassett, Samantha Spiro, Iwan Rheon, and Rebecca Front.
