Siobhan Finneran Bio

Siobhan Finneran is an actress born on 27th April 1966 in Oldham, Lancashire, England. Growing up, Finneran had a passion for acting and drew a lot of inspiration from the English comedian Eric Morecambe. Her first role in the film industry came in the comedy-drama film “Rita, Sue and Bob Too.” She has also appeared in numerous television drama series, including “Coronation Street” from 1989 to 1990, “Clocking Off” from 2000 to 2001, and “The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard” in 2006.

In 2005, she landed the lead role in Simon Stephens’ play “On the Shore of the Wide World.” She won the Manchester Evening News Theatre Award in the category of Best Actress for her role in this play. Between 2007 and 2015, she starred in the lead role as Janice Garvey in the British sitcom “Benidrom.” She later played television roles in the three-part drama series “Unforgiven” in 2009 and in the first three seasons of the historical drama television series “Downton Abbey” from 2010 to 2012. She has also been playing the recovering addict in the crime drama television series “Happy Valley” since 2014.
