Só Pra Contrariar is a Brazilian musical group that was formed in 1989 in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The group was formed by Alexandre Pires, his brother Fernando Pires (drums), Juliano (percussion) and friends Rogerio (tanta), Serginho (keyboards), Hamilton (sax), Luiz Fernando (pandeiro), Alexandre Popo (surdo) and Luis Antonio (bass).
So Pra Contrariar released their demo tape in 1993 and their debut self-titled CD in the same year. The CD included the hit track Que Se Chama Amor and sold over 500,000 copies catapulting the group to fame. Their second CD So Pra Contrariar appeared in 1994 and included the hits O Meu Jeito De Ser, Te Amar Sem Medo, Essa Tal Liberdade and E Bom Demais. They appeared on Alexandre Pires’ 2012 album Eletrosamba.
