SZA Bio
Singer SZA was born Solana Rowe on November 8, 1990 in St. Louis, Missouri. She never planned to have a music career, instead she had pursued a career as a marine biologist before she fell into recording music.
She met members of Top Dawg Entertainment through connections to her boyfriend’s clothing line. Her debut EP, “See SZA Run,” was released independently in October 2012. In 2013, she released her second EP entitled “S” and was officially signed to Top Dawg in July 2013. She released the single, “Teen Spirit,’ including a remix version featuring 50 Cent. In March 2014, her single, “Child’s Play,” featuring Chance the Rapper was released. Her third EP, “Z,” was released in April 2014. It peaked at number 39 on the Billboard Top 200, number seven on the Billboard Top Digital Albums chart, number seven on the Billboard Top Independent Albums chart, number five on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart, and number nine on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
