The Backseat Lovers is an American indie rock band, formed in 2018 in Utah. The Salt Lake City-based band is known for singles like Kilby Girl, Maple Syrup, and Pool House. The band is composed of lead guitar/ vocals Jonas Swanson, lead singer/guitar Joshua Harmon, KJ Ward on bass guitar, and drummer Juice Welch. They began recording together in the spring of 2018 and released their self-produced EP Elevator Days on June 3, 2018. The Backseat Lovers released their debut full-length studio album, When We Were Friends, on January 27, 2019. According to Spotify's metrics, the band is most popular in Los Angeles and Chicago. In December of 2021, they boasted more than 3 million monthly listeners on their verified Spotify page.
