Chelsey Lynn LaRue (born October 7, 1992), more commonly known by her stage name The Bonfyre, is an American R&B singer from Chicopee, Massachusetts. She started her music career on YouTube, where she uploaded videos of herself covering different songs. With her immense talent, she was able to catch the attention of a club owner, who then arranged for her to perform in his Harlem venue. This opportunity led her to being discovered by producer Yancey Richardson, making her known to R&B pillar Raphael Saadiq. In 2016, The Bonfyre released her cover of Refugee Camp All-Stars’ The Sweetest Thing and it led to her being signed into L.A. Reid’s Hitco Entertainment. She started working with prolific producers and in August 2018, she released her debut EP, Ready to Love. In July 2019, she released a new single entitled U Say which featured rapper 6lack.
